How to Reach the People Connected to God’s Purpose for You
A Case Study on My Recent Semi-Viral Post on LinkedIn
This week, you’re in for a real treat.
Most of the time when I read or write case studies, it’s about someone else - a client of my own, a client of someone else, or a celebrity who made it big doing something really impactful.
But this time, this particular case study is not about any of that. It’s my own personal experience that, less than 24 hours ago, I had no idea I was going to experience.
And I will be honest…
I had gotten used to not seeing a whole lot of engagement on my social media posts. I remember when God told me to rebrand my entire business to Christian content creation, with coaching as just one of my income streams. I was a nervous wreck when He asked me to do this. At the time, I was teaching women how to code and become software developers. So this pivot did not make sense at the time. I then turned that business into a program for my already existing nonprofit. Therefore, coding would no longer be the only thing I talked about in my content.
So when I originally made the complete pivot to transforming generations through purpose, and my engagement wasn’t moving much, I was a bit concerned. This is where most people would quit. However, because I was more committed to the process than the results, I stuck it out long enough to see the proof in the pudding.
And then yesterday, something happened that completely shocked me: my post went semi-viral, meaning that its impression count is nearing the 10,000 mark! 🎉 All in less than 24 hours!
Here’s the post:

Just take a look at these numbers:
8,796 impressions
189 reactions
15 reposts
Now that might seem like an overnight success to you, until I tell you what REALLY allowed this to happen. So let’s get into the meat and potatoes of why this occurred.
First, my post on Friday was unknowingly the ultimate setup for this. Here’s what it said:

At the time of me writing this newsletter, this post has 333 impressions and 10 reactions.
But I want you to see something very important from this post’s caption:
You don't need to get in front of A LOT of people. You just need to get in front of the RIGHT people. And eventually you’ll be in front of A LOT OF THE RIGHT people.
Effectiveness > Popularity.
But if you just so happen to become popular, effectiveness will give you the character required to sustain that following.
Let’s outline why this is important:
I took time to get clear on who God was leading me to reach. I didn’t rush this process. I took a couple of weeks to refine this audience and get in tune with the Holy Spirit’s leading.
One month ago, I started posting once a day on LinkedIn, 6 days a week. This allowed time for the LinkedIn algorithm to learn who I am, what I am about, and what my content will be about. As a result, it pushed my content to the right people. At first, it was only to a few people, but they were the RIGHT people. And now, my content is being show to A LOT OF THE RIGHT people.
I didn’t stop posting when I didn’t see as much engagement. I remembered the rule of 0, which states that EVERYONE starts at 0 - which means we all have to start at the beginning. Even the creators with the most followers started at 0. Expecting to be seen by a lot of people at the start is not only unrealistic, but it has the potential to ruin your own personal growth. It’s not a matter of IF your content will go viral; it’s a matter of WHEN. And if you were to go viral before you were ready, that would be disastrous to both your purpose and your character. Don’t miss this: Because I stuck to the process, I am now ready and prepared for viral engagement. More importantly, God knew it, which is why He allowed it to happen.
More eyes on your content means more eyes on what you have to offer. When God sees you being faithful to carry out your business, organization, brand, app, service, or movement, He will allow more people to see it. Faithfulness and consistency go hand-in-hand. Not only have I been faithful and consistent with content, but I have also been faithful and consistent in serving my clients. Know this: Being consistent is always greater than being constant. Constant work will burn you out, but consistent work will blow you up. Consistent work will turn you into the most effective person you have ever seen, and you’ll be living the fullness of your purpose in no time. You just have to believe in yourself and trust that God has your back.
In short: be faithful and consistent with your posts, in your business process, in the development of your movement, in the creation of your app, etc. And you will see God move in huge ways.
I’ve spoken to many of you reading this right now, and you all have huge dreams that you once believed God would never bring to pass for you. Some of you have been sitting on your purpose for years, and you’re nervous to move on it because you wonder if anyone will listen.
But take my example this weekend as a lesson that you don’t need everyone to listen; you just need the RIGHT people to listen. And in turn, you will help A LOT OF THE RIGHT people.
Whenever you are ready, here are two ways I can help you:
